Yes, in my opinion a man who does this is while married is committing a far greater transgression then physically cheating.
A man developing an emotional bond and/or giving another woman resources would be on the level men attribute to a woman physically cheating.
Women tend to believe emotions involved is worse, men tend to believe physical is worse.
