Some additional context might be helpful...
Doesn't really matter the reasons. Let's say wife felt threatened
Is anyone came back from that?
Sure, some have. Others have not.
Really, though, I don't think you're going to get many answers better than mine (and it wasn't a great answer, to be sure), without some pretty extensive details. That doesn't mean you need to share those details here - I understand why you might not want to - but you probably need to share them with SOMEONE you trust. in my opinion, it sounds like you probably need some therapy anyway, and a therapist is a good person for this discussion.
But to answer what is probably your REAL question, I'll say this: you MAY get another chance, but you shouldn't expect one. One of the things you have to learn as an adult is that your choices and your behavior have consequences - and sometimes those consequences are PERMANENT - so you need to learn to maintain control of yourself, and you need to think about the potential consequences of things before you take action. It's even better if you can do the thinking ahead of time, when you are calm and collected, and make your decisions then, when you have time to evaluate the consequences. That way, when a tense situation comes up, your decision is already made, and you can just carry it out.
If you give yourself permission to just act out without thinking, then you're usually going to lose and lose big in the long run.
I agree
But there is a view... Something had to give. And it gave.
So yes everyone's circumstances are different.
And maybe the answer is for both persons to move on.
Not really asking if there is hope of that.
Just asking if anyone has any first hand experience
