+1 yAs a woman who signed up on so many dating apps.
I got guys messaging me and asking me questions like: “so, what do you do?” “What are your hobbies?” And I give simple answers like “I mostly clean and cook and I like outdoor activities. My hobbies are reading and listening to music. Sometimes swimming and painting.” Then I ask the guys the same question back “what do you do?” And they say “oh I’m a field operator and I work 10-12 hour shifts. That at times I go visit my son and ex wife.”
Then out of nowhere, the conversation becomes awkward when the guys ask if I work and I answer politely by saying “no, not at the moment.” Then they freak out and start asking me “what? How do you live and support yourself?”
So I move on to the next guy
The foreign guys
Who all have told me “You’re an American and you don’t work? Or have a phd? Unacceptable! There are women in my country who sell tea in the streets with phd!! I must come to America and you and I get married so I could get a working visa and become rich like bill gates! The land of opportunity is there! And you as woman are nothing!”

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yNowadays men are very greedy. They run after money and beauty. Nowadays, if a woman does not stand on her own feet, then the man only keeps her as an option. He runs after such women who are in a high position. I loved a man immensely for three years, but he always preferred that woman who was well established over me. I was a student at that time. He left me for that woman. He was a very greedy and arrogant person. I became closer to God because of his deception. I really loved him but he did not value me because I was not in a high position like that girl. It broke me so much that i cried so much, it badly affected my health.

I'm guessing the guy you liked was a top 10%er. They tend to be selfish and self-centered, and if you came across one that was also greedy, well, it doesn't get much worse than that. Such guys certainly do chase money and beauty, though, yes.
Top 10% guys are like a whole different species - they get so much interest from women that they have zero reason to care about women or take them seriously. Yet, they're the guys that women rate as the most attractive, and largely the only ones women ever choose. Women certainly don't pick those men for their morals, values, and life-goals, because that would be nothing but a long list of red flags. Instead, women pick them because they're hot, they're popular, and they have status (and often money) - but if a woman picks a guy for those reasons, they're going to get wrecked almost every time.
Pick a guy based on his morals, values, and life-goals (which are all things of LONG-term importance), and you'll have a very different experience. It's just that few women today are willing to do this - they all want the hot Chads and Tyrones, except they somehow believe that those guys will commit to them and take them seriously as relationship partners, even though their own experience tells them that doesn't ever happen.
Asker+1 yI have to disagree, women are more likely to go for personality over looks than men from what I see.
Asker+1 y@MrOracle okay so to get clear on this let’s define what you mean by the top 10%… I’m genuinely interested now.
+1 yI think most of us guys are driven by the idea of being able to make money on our own. It's not about having money, it's about making it. So it's not so interesting to most of us to just be handed money. We want to know we can make it ourselves.
It's like this idea of participation trophies. I can only imagine that women came up with the idea, since it's so antithetical to the way a guy thinks. We don't want the trophy when we finish in last place. We want the gold trophy but not for free. We want to earn it by being the fastest on the team.
12 Reply- +1 y
I think that is kind of general diff between guys and girls on average (excluding exceptional guys and girls). Guys wanna earn stuff. Girls wanna be given stuff. So like if a guy is fat, he wants to lose weight. If a girl is fat, she wants to appear on fashion magazine without losing weight and be called the most beautiful woman on earth. Fat guy probably wouldn't like that even if he got shown on some fashion magazine; he will feel like this is fake and he didn't earn it. Fat girl, on the other hand, is so happy.
Asker+1 yI get that
3.6K opinions shared on Relationships topic. No. Women's income is not a factor for men in selecting a romantic partner, except in extreme cases when she has so much money that it's a problem that will dissuade a man completely.
Women care about men's income, but men want entirely different things from a woman, and her education, degrees, career, and income are all irrelevant to most men, or are even a negative.
The things men want in a woman are not improved by money or status.12 Reply
Asker+1 yIn your opinion, what is it that you think that men want most in women then?

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yMen really don't care about what a girl makes... like sure, it's always good to make more money, but men are much more concerned with a woman's looks, personality, and whether or not she's a pleasant person and mother figure, than if she makes a bunch of money... It's just not in a man's list of priorities.
You'll hear stuff like a girl can work at McDonald's but if she's got all the right things going on, guys are going to want to get to know her and be with her regardless.
Sometimes us guys wish women could just see us for who we are too, outside of the whole money and career thing. I know it's important, but still... frustrating when you like a particular type of woman and it's like she's out there just expecting the world and then some from a man. Like the extreme percentile of expectations.
Sure it's something to strive for, both men and women, but is it realistic? Just wish people were more self aware, at the end of the day I guess.

Asker+1 yWhat if she’s a career lady but still earns less…
+1 yI have plenty of money already, but even if I was strapped for cash, I wouldn't date and marry a woman just because of her financial situation. That's not on my list of desirable things for a partner, and I consider it quite shallow.
You should marry someone because you are in love with them and wanna spend your life with them. Not because they'd be financially well off or have a high social status.11 Reply
Asker+1 yCompletely agree.
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yNo not at all. Men aren’t driven by that. As much as women would like to think we are, it doesn’t make a girl any sexier the more she makes. Now when it comes to women dating men who make money, they’re more willing to look past his looks if he’s got money. A man would take a girl working at McDonalds if she was hot over the CEO of a company who was ugly. Honestly men don’t really care about how much a girl makes or her career.
Asker+1 yAssuming both are equal in looks and sweetness, it’s going to be the CEO right…
Opinion Owner+1 yMost likely no. Because a man, just like a lady needs attention, maybe not as much as a female but if she’s a CEO chances are she’s always going to be working, always on call, so she’s not going to have much time for him, a family, etc. I’d that’s the chances are he’s not going to be up for that. There’s some exceptions to this as far as men who do the same especially if he doesn’t want a family, but a lot of men want marriage, children, etc. So between the CEO or the girl working at a fast food restaurant I’d take the second one. Besides women who are CEOs, things like that usually have masculine qualities which most men don’t like. Masculinity usually means she’s going to be more disagreeable, arguable, that’s not what men want to come home to after working a long day.
I’m not saying couples don’t have disagreements here and there, but in this case it tends to be more.
Asker+1 yThat’s interesting.
Depends what she wanted vs what I wanted. I could care less about what she makes, much more concerned about building something real. Usually relationships like this are doomed to fail for biological & traditional factors as a woman usually wants a man that's financially her equal or better. Finances is the main reason I never started a family, I have others I refuse to abandon that depend on me.

In my experience women who do make more will still not pay their share and have unrealistic expectations.12 Reply
Asker+1 yI agree with the team player part. I think that’s how women see it too. Interesting that they didn’t treat you though even though they earned the same or more.
No thank you. I’ve spent enough time in life around people who think they can tell me what to do because they have money to have any interest in that. Women control sex as it is. Letting her control the money too is just asking to lose any autonomy I have in life lol

If you put 2 women that looked exactly the same in front of a man, one woman with money, and the other with home skills, and he could pick whatever girl he wanted of the 2 to make his wife he would most likely pick that woman with home skills.
In my opinion, I think you are projecting whats most important to you. If you think men care about your money it's probably because you care more about a man's money then you do the actual man himself.21 Reply
Asker+1 yWell you’d be wrong. How do I care about money when I’d happily be with someone who earns less?
6.1K opinions shared on Relationships topic. No. 1. Because I didn't earn it. Yeah I wanna be rich. But half the joy is knowing that I DID IT. 2. I don't own her, and nobody owns me. I don't have a problem with her having more money than me because I know who I am. But whether you got 1 dollar or 1 million dollars to your name a better person it does not make you. You still put your pants on 1 leg at a time like everybody else.

Actually last year was too hectic. It started on a good note but it soon became a nightmare. Lot of horrible things happened including my father had an accident and me taking the responsibility to take care of him and everything. So, I was away. Now that things are finally starting to get a little better. I came back 😅
Great to see you again!

I can't say everything here but yeah, it's going to take a while before he's completely fit and fine. I'm there for him though everyday.
Thank you for asking
+1 yI dated rich girls. One got boob and nose job at same time as their mother and sister when she was in grade 10! After dating them briefly I was unable to overlook their spoiled entitled behaviour.
The rich really do live separately from the rest of us. On a whim deciding to fly to a ski resort for the weekend, parents buying them a house at 18, just few things I witnessed.

yes some interesting pscyhology to that, but there's reasons.
No, a woman's income is not a factor in her sexual attractiveness. As the old adage goes my money is our money but her money is her money. I do not have access to her money. So why should I be attracted to something I am not entitled to socially or legally.

What do you want me to say? I mean, wealth is an indicator of functional members of society. Unless it is inherited, it takes intelligence and effort to build wealth. A conscientious and intelligent person will be a great companion.
A poor woman with nothing is also an indication that she will likely have serious problems holding her back. Those problems would quickly become mine after investing my life in her.
The wealthier woman is just the safer option. I don't make the rules. It is also no secret that women prefer men who are wealthy as well as physically equipped to succeed. Such genes are those that a woman wants her offspring to inherit in order to increase the chances of grandchildren and the survival of her own genes for generations. This is just nature.
Asker+1 yThe truth.
Asker+1 ySome people just get better starts in life, I don’t think it’s as simple as that. Although I know what you’re saying. It’s not really the truth though as someone who battles and outs in lots of effort isn’t always rewarded as much, often times it’s more about who you know rather than what you know. Real talk.

No, Usually us Guys would go for the Girl who is Physically more Attractive not the Girl who has more money.
I don't think any straight Guy woul go for a Rich Girl if we didn't find her Physically Attractive.
For us Guys Money is Irrelevant and usually hardly ever a deciding factor.
It can be a good bonus to have a lot of Money but if there was an Ugly Girl who is was Rich and an Attractive Girl who isn't, Most Guys including me would choose the the Attractive Girl who isn't.
Asker+1 ySo if they’re both attractive, equal in all other ways beside money, of course you’ll go with money.
Asker+1 yBut attractive and rich is better than attractive and poor. That’s my point. Men do value money more, all else being equal.

Well I've seen enough men to get fucked in marriage so I have been careful enough to not make that mistake. But with more and more women receiving promotions just for having a cute face and out-earning men it is only natural that men will start destroying women in marriage and give them a taste of their own medicine. If it became a trend one day then the gynocentric system will again take extra measures to protect women and fuck men.
Asker+1 yThat’s rubbish. And definitely a jaded view. It doesn’t represent the majority.
