Girlfriend wants to be with her ex?

Anonymous

I've been seeing this girl for 6 months now and I feel like she might still be attached to her ex? She says the bad he did but still from time to time speaks of him in an endearing way and the times they spent together

I'm in a very cliche position. The ex was taller than me and bigger than me (I'm definitely a slender guy), gangster type, very aggressive, she used live with him, he abused her a lot, didn't have money or have his life going anywhere, made her get a tattoo of his name on her chest, and they had lots of sex and we're trying to have a baby. last nightShe even told me that he told her that no matter what happens she'll always be "his girl" and even if she were to get married, she'd still mess around with him. This worries me because of an incident we had where she turned on me and got mad at me because she felt like I was standing in the way of her being able to see him (she wanted to return some stuff that she has of his, this was like 2 months ago). Granted, I started speaking to her when she had finally worked up the courage to leave him. She told me that if I had not come along, she would have just went back to him. She's constantly telling me that she feels like I'm too good for her and that I can find someone better. She tells me I'm the complete opposite of the guy. I've my very best to be the best kind of guy that I could be for her. She told me I'm her favorite person in the whole world. I'm the best thing that's ever happened to her.

I just don't know how to make heads of tails of this situation. She's told me that I'm her best friend too. But she's told me that it's really hard to let go of someone that she was really close to because she doesn't get close to many people. She tells me that maybe we shouldn't talk so she doesn't end up hurting me too much (She cries over the situation a lot). She thinks it isn't fair to me. I would love to hear what you guys think and what you have to say. Thank you
