I wouldn't jump to conclusions. I lived with a narcissistic aunt, and she used to say I was trying to kill her (Narcissists always play the victim and crave attention) and managed to send me to jail once because I gave up fighting. People lie and some are quite good at it. The charges could be trumped up, especially with a female being involved.
I worked with a girl once who got fired for smoking crack in the bathroom, and when the manager fired her, and walked her out of the building, she punched herself in the face, ripped her clothes, including her panties, and called the police, and said he tried to rape her.
Co-workers say her doing this, her friends saw her too, hell, even I saw her in the parking lot hitting herself in the face.
The guy went to jail for a few days, and the charges got dropped, and the only reason is because of all the witness, and the cameras outside, which the police are so stupid, it took them a month to listen to anyone about the cameras.
So, yeah, you just never know. I can image if this guy is a bad dude, abusive, narcissistic, then they might set off some bells and whistles, but even then, you still don't know for sure. It sucks but what can you do?

1. Anything involving a child
2. Rape or sexual assault
3. Any assault against a woman
4. Possession of child p0rn
5. Homicide
Other stuff, people make mistakes and can change except for the stuff above.
Wouldn't be surprised. My husband use to get in trouble all the time as a kid/teen/sometimes still now as a adult. Luckily his dad was a cop so he would just take him home at the end of the day so he never got in real trouble
I would still stay. He sure seems like a better man now.
