Well, I cannot say you are wrong for staying quiet... but as my mother always told me growing up; "Watch out for the quiet ones."
it is commonly believed that quiet people are often hiding something... which honest in my experience is their true feelings. Never underestimate a quiet person, even if they are true introverts, do not assume they are not highly skilled at listening, and picking up on social cues, and nonverbal communication.
In my experience the quiet ones are highly skilled at nonverbal communication, but that leads to a lot of misunderstandings, because they are leaving completely up to the other person to assume they know something they cannot possibly know... which leaves them guessing about what your true intentions are. This can be highly frustrating and concerning to others.
Secondly, the quest ones, in my experience tend to think they know things, they cannot honestly know if it was never discussed in armature and open way. For me I always say, if you want to be heard you have to speak. I your feelings matter, then you have to honest and open about what they are. If you just clam up and shut down and refuse to speak... then like another old say I came up with,
"If a bear farts in the woods, and nobody is there to hear it, does it make a sound? Or is just silent but deadly to the for the trees?"
So for me that is how it feels like being in a relationship with a quiet person, it's like dating someone who is silent but deady... but you can't hear the fart... it smells bad.
Depends on the argument. Better to communicate but we have to pick our battles in life.
Only if you don't make an effort to speak your mind.
