@asker a person that is in poverty for those reasons usually starts out that way. The only exception I will make is injury, and yes I would be there for my injured partner. No I would not be there for my partner for any other reason because those are made up excuses to not have it together at an adult age
In a long-term and serious relationship, it's not about the money. It's about commitment and support for your partner. If the financial situation is out of their control, then it's important to stand by them and help them get back on their feet. Being with someone shouldn't be contingent on their material possessions or financial status. Instead, it's about being there for your partner through all the ups and downs of life. If you truly love someone, you'll stick with them during the good times and the bad times!

Anyone who would leave someone because of this wasn't really that interested in the person to begin with.

How would falling into poverty not be along the lines of his fault in some kind of way?
War, political/economic instability, corrupt government seizing the property of people from certain ethnicity, betrayal by some close friend etc.
