I'm a simple person - he has to be clean, eat nutritious and healthy food, and treat me with kindness and respect, not get drunk or do marijuana or vaping and not be a smoker. Usually my refusal to discuss certain topics shows them what my boundaries are. As well as my patterns of behaviour. Most people can predict my boundaries based on how I act and behave in my daily life.

If things are aligned well you can affirm their opinions and tell them that’s how you see things too.


If things are aligned poorly, you can let them know that it was great meeting them, but you don’t think you should continue seeing each other because of misaligned relationship goals.

I am. My partner and i have very open communication so we literally just talk about it. That wasn’t always the case though, when we were just friends with benefits I constantly kept in my true feelings for her (because I was scared) and told her I didn’t want a relationship. When I got out of my own way, I was finally honest with her, and she was with me too (she was also not telling me what’s she actually wants) and since then we have really great communication.

yes. but looking back, I was quite confused, misdirected emotionally and confused the women. as wounds heal, the heart changes and so answers change.

Good point. But this is why we communicate. People can't read minds. I can see how someone might feel lied to if the answers change. But if you make a habit out of telling the truth they're more likely to believe you.

I wasn't honest at the begging, because I thought thing were going to naturally develop. I found out I had to communicate some of my expectations. That helped, although, not in the long run. Her expectations were different.
