When a guy asks a girl to be his girlfriend how long does she realistically have to answer?

An old friend asked me to be his girlfriend Thursday night. I have feelings for him, but if I say yes it'd devastate my best friend, and that's the last thing I want to do.

How long do I have to figure this out or is it too late already?

He and I have been going on dates since January and he's in love with me, and I love him back but, I don't know

So, the issue is that you don't want to have to make a choice. Unfortunately, being an adult means making choices and living with the consequences.

I recommend you take a good look at each guy's morals, values, and life goals, because those are the things that are going to matter to you after 6 months - regardless of how handsome or exciting or funny or whatever you might think of them today. Choose wisely.
