I think prenups should be used far more than they are today, and I believe no man should ever get married without one given today's realities with respect to marriage and divorce, and women's lack of commitment.

Having said that, there will always be circumstances that warrant overruling a prenup, and I don't think we should change the laws that make that impossible.

What DOES need to change is the overwhelming bias in favor of women in divorce courts and child custody proactices. The fact is, given the current legal and social climate, divorce harms men and children but benefits selfish women. Women are finacially incentvised to divorce their husbands, which is why half of marriages end in divorce, women file 80% of them, and lack of commitment is the #1 reason for divorce today.

Modern women are showing their true colors here, and divorce laws need to change to protect men and children from them. If they don't, marriage will be a thing of the past within another generation or two, and western society will crumble.

So much talk about gold diggers. I think men should worry more about what they can offer a woman that has nothing to do with money, and they might find themselves pleasantly surprised with what happiness they can achieve in a relationship. Women too need protection in divorce, and yet there is not talk of that while men fuss over their wallets. The less people think of things that are preventing them from actually finding happiness the happier we'll all be.

They should be more important than they are now. For anyone unaware a prenup most of the time does not change things today. They generally hold little actual power in a court of law.
