It depends on how long you have been dating, how far the relationship has progressed, whether you are long distance, how often you see each other in person, how old you are, and thwther there are any external constraints that limit your ability to devote time to communication (such as having small children at home.) There is not one answer that fits all relationships and all points in the relationship.

I put once a day since that is the bare minimum of what I would expect in a relationship but in reality it is multiple times a day. If you’re going days to a week plus on average without communicating you’re not really in a relationship at that point, it just feels more like a friendship
