Clear, open, honest communication is necessary if we want any depth in a relationship. People are lousy mind readers, so holding things in or not showing an interest in seeing things through the eyes of the other person will only lead to frustration and disappointment. Unfortunately, very few people take the time to actually learn how to communicate. The basics are easy to learn but can be challenging to apply, as we generally stick to the familiar dysfunctional communication patterns we observe all around us.
What people generally don't understand is talking and communicating are totally different things. You can share facts and figures through talking, but communication allows the sharing of depth, understanding and meaning. Never assume non-stop talkers know anything about communication.
