I find it funny that all the ways that people are saying are pretty much sexual. Why not greet him with words, hey how was your day, anything you need? A warm meal, or a cool drink. Greet him with peace, and a listening ear. Draw a bath or shower and have his comfy clothes out and do something you don’t usually do, like if he is a gamer, say I want to play video games with you tonight. Or watch that show you like that I’m not into. It doesn’t always have to be sexual.

The cliche is to be waiting for him in lingere or whatever but that isn't reality, when someone first gets home they most likely just want to be left alone so they can get in the door maybe change or something and generally just adjust from 'work mode' to being themselves again, most people are putting on a front of some kind when they are outside their homes.

Some people like to have a moan about things, it doesn't mean anything and they are not asking you for solutions you just need to allow them to express their outrage at how awful everything is.

I simply do not think there is any 'surprise' that anyone wants when they get home from work.

But I don't speak for everyone, it's just a generalisation, if you want to know how he feels about it then ask him but even then all you are going to get is what he thinks he wants so that might not have anything to do with reality either.
