Do you keep any items from your ex partners after the relationship has ended?

Like something they bought for you, but still proves useful enough to keep and not throw away.

Yeah, I have some teddies in my basement. I have a wok (kinda), and an ukulele.  I think that's about it. Oh and also some decorating stuff I got from one of my ex's mom.

Yeah some things I've kept that were gifts to me obviously. I do have a hoodie that I still wear that belongs to my ex. He left it and never picked it up so I kept it lol.

I have no ex. But, from those friends of mine who do have an ex; those who kept something regretted it later, because it led them back to their ex, and the drama started all over again. Others, gave their ex all their stuff back, and were much happier. They also later found that their ex was better as a general friend, rather than as a person of interest for a relationship.

Be careful, not all ex are cordial. Some you have to break off completely, that includes any friends you have in common. A toxic ex will use their friends you have in common to get at you on a personal level, and make sure you do not find a good relationship.

I never officially experienced that.. but of the guy I did like in the past (and he told me he loved me, just wasn't ready to date) I got rid of all things that reminded me of him even songs off of my playlist.. I didn't want to remember him at all since it hurt so bad..

Yeah, and the other way. I remember on the phone once she was like "I'm wearing some hoodie from an ex that left it but i love you enough to finally discard it lol". It was cute, and we never talked anything bad about previous partners, and that is why she is always the among the best.

I think I still have some things, but they weren't gifts, so it's hard to say how I should treat them. Normal things of use. But as there is not emotional attachment, I don't really care
