Deciding whether somethig is "cheating" is a word game that people use to try to avoid responsibility for their actions. It doesn't really matter whether it is "technically cheating." The question is whether it violates the reasonable expectations and trust of your partner. Does she know that you do these things? Do you hide this from her? If so, why?

Anyone who seriously asks this question is not ready for a relationship. Testing the limits of what you can "get away with" shows that you don't understand the obligations of commitment to a partner.

Well, I wouldn't be thinking I'd RATHER the person I was flirting with was my SO. But flirting is usually innocent but stimulating.

Everyone wants to feel that they're still attractive to others whether they're coupled or not... Having a good time talking to someone at a party or where ever it occurs is a genuine pleasure in life. You can have wonderful brief encounters on the bus, at a park, at a bar sipping a drink, playing pool, at the playground with your kids, at a church supper. Anywhere and everywhere.

Depends on the intent. Sometimes it's just to give someone a confidence boost, or in mutual jest. I will "flirt" with some friends but the fact is I'm confident in my relationship and know the flirting will not lead to anything more than lighting up someone's day.
