Not waiting for my boyfriend to eat dinner- is it wrong?

My boyfriend and I just went to the gym and he dropped me back home. He has nipped out to visit a friend and will be at least an hour. He told me to wait for him to eat but it’s past 8pm here and I’m so hungry. Is it wrong to go ahead and make my meal first?
