My boyfriend is always negative and miserable?

I've told him to go if his life with me makes him so unhappy but he won’t and now it’s having a negative effect on me!

We were in the car today and he was just getting so wound up by anything and everything on the road. He says where we live isn’t nice. I’m stuck in this area for another few years due to personal commitments. He doesn’t need to be and could just walk away.

We travel a lot to beautiful places we’d both like to live one day. We just got back from a week away. I’m just fed up of the negativity all the time.

Be direct about how he is being a negative influence and you do not want to be with someone like that, so he needs to improve or it is done. Make it clear you are not insulting him or trying to be mean, but that you are just stating what you want out of a relationship.

You two could have amazing chemistry and compatibility in a lot of ways, but it could be bad timing due to where he is at in life.

Maybe he's a Detroit Pistons and University of Detroit men's basketball fan. You have a choice to walk away also, dear. If you feel like his negativity is affecting you terribly, you can leave.

How does he reacts? Do you think if there is any scope of compromise from his side which can give things some time on a common note... If yes, ask him and note his behaviour. If he really respects you with your priorities at a time, he will definitely co-operate with you. Otherwise, you guys need to take a break alone. Things will get better when you are not around each other :)
