It would be the most uncaring and insensitive way to do it. The least a woman can do is tell him over the phone if she can't do it in person.

That said, the most awesome way my (now exwife) told me she was having our 3rd son was by ecard. It was an animated card with a stork and everything. That was awesome, especially since I am an IT guy and love that kind of thing.

But that is way way way different then a plain text.

Shame on any woman that does that. If it were reversed, and he was telling you something just as big, how would you react to it being by text? You would freak out.

I think telling him is the most important thing, not the manner in which how you do it, just be ready for how he feels an the question he may have.

I did this. It was the only way for me to tell my now ex husband I was pregnant. Do I see anything wrong with it, no but it should only be done in extreme circumstances. Otherwise pregnancy announcements should be done in person or via a phone call.

Yes, never send anything of value over a text message. It's a very personal message and would you not want to see his body language as you tell him?
