My boyfriend turned violent when drinking. What should I do?

Me and my boyfriend were drinking and he turned like a different person. We have been also drinking before and he was never like this. Never violent, never abuse. This time was different. He used violence. I was with my phone and when I didn't pay attention to him, he started to shout. I went to the bedroom and he followed me. He put his hand on my face and punched it strong. I also hit him a little bit and he hit me. I wanted to sleep, but he wanted to talk. I layed down in the bed and he was up on me. Then we fall down from the bed and he was sitting on me. He didn't let me go. I said I can't breath and he let go off me. He threated to kill me and himself but didn't do it. Then he just called me a bitch and other bad names. I also showed him a middle finger. After a while, he became very regretful what he has done, he cried and apologized. The next day he continued to be regretful and cried many times. He said he became like a beast that he never before was. He is the most loving and kind man, but this time when drunk he was someone completely different. What should I do? :(
