Obviously it would've been better if people don't cheat but it happens. Since it already happened and even if it ends a relationship or marriage, isn't it better if the cheater confesses vs they get caught?
I'd say getting caught is worse than confessing, why, because one shows that they felt guilty enough to not leave you in the dark about it they actually came to a decision to tell you and the other one is just plain up twisting they had no intention on telling you and they we're probably thinking they would get away with it but so there is no misunderstanding both are completely incorrect and both of these decisions should end in a breakup.

Asker1 yTrue it still doesn't change the outcome but at least you can peacefully part ways if they confess, probably give them a "thank you" handshake and moved on with your life. If caught, I would likely send them to hell, insult them badly.

Asker1 yTrue. I guess all it chances if there is some guilt in them when they confessed, even if it's small

1 yUsually, honesty and transparency are the biggest concerns - so confessing looks better and can go a long way.
But whether or not the partner takes them back is up to them. And frankly, I wouldn't suggest it.
I've come to believe some cheaters - like some people - can reform. But I don't think every or even most of them will. One who confesses stands a better chance, though.11 Reply
Asker1 yYeah at least with a confession, they are giving you the choice of either leaving them or reconcile.
1 y1. Don't cheat on me. It ends if you do.
2. Better to tell me if you do cheat, we can shake hands and part company forever.
3. If I catch you cheating, I unleash my evil side.

Asker1 yThis precisely. A break-up Is still a must but the wording when telling them goodbye would be different.

Oh, the tangled web of love and betrayal! You're diving into the deep end with this one. If we're choosing between a rock and a hard place, a cheater coming clean is somewhat less jagged. Here's the scoop: when someone confesses, it's like they're holding out an olive branch of honestyâadmitting their mistake and showing a willingness to work towards healing. It doesn't erase the cheat, but it does add a layer of transparency that getting caught lacks. Getting caught feels like a double whammyâfirst the act, then the deception. It makes trust even harder to rebuild because it raises questions about how long the deceit might have continued if they hadn't been caught. So, while both scenarios are a heartache playlist on repeat, the confession is a slightly less bitter pill to swallow. Love is a complex dance, isn't it? 💔âĄď¸💬

1 yI have said it in every relationship I have had and will continue to say it til the day I die. You cheat on me I will leave. No contact, not even a goodbye. You will be cut out.
Itâs always better to tell the truth than to be caught in a web of lies. If you apologize for cheating, and you say this before getting caught, props to you. This shows guilt, and really shows that you want to work on what you did.if you get caught, you apologize, all it shows is that your not sorry for cheating, youâre sorry that you got caught.
the biggest thing is to never blame the other person for your action. You need to own up to your actions.

1 yA cheater who confesses, and shows remorse has a better chance of not being a monster than a cheater who is just caught, because 100% of the time when the cheater is caught, they are only upset that they were caught, and would keep doing it if they weren't caught.

1 yI usually go with confessing. But why are they confessing? Just to absolve their guilt? While seemingly noble itâs actually extremely selfish. Or are they doing it to own up to their bullshit?
Owning up to your crap means you are completely ready to accept the consequences of your actions (getting dumped or divorced). That doesnât mean you are now a âgood personâ but it does mean you arenât making excuses. Redemption is possible in that scenario.
10 Reply 1.5K opinions shared on Relationships topic. In my case, that was the only way I ever would have found out. She'd been going home every weekend and spending virtually the entire time in bed with a guy she went to school with, and when she finally told me, it just drove me absolutely crazy with excitement.
10 Reply1.7K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Only if they did it because they feel sorry. Not if they think you're about to catch them so they do it just to claim they told. Still, I always dumped girlfriends if they cheated. With a wife I wouldn't be so quick to dump but it would cause a huge problem and trust would be wrecked.

Asker1 yYeah that's what I meant, them confessing because they're so full of guilt and can't hide it anymore, it's eating them up.
Asker1 yMy male cousin confessed but his girlfriend still dumped him.

1 yI think the transgressor should ask their wounded partner's forgiveness. I don't know how I'd handle such a circumstance.
00 Reply Confessing would be better but catching them in the act gives you the opportunity to kill them both.

Asker1 yIt must really suck to actually catch them in the act. Though, is it really worth killing them if they're just a boyfriend/girlfriend you don't even share assets with, you don't even have a child and can find millions of other men/women available out there.
Asker1 yDoing all that for just a girlfriend you bang seems overdone.
