Well... There are several reasons.

First, I'm not looking forward to a "date" with the police at 6 AM. It's not like I could ever get ready for a date at such an early hour, You know... 😁 Also, I'm not a fan of BDSM, so I'd prefer not to interact with the police at all, if possible.

Second, assuming She is not "impressed" with me enough to "refer" me to the police, She is still unlikely to reciprocate my feelings, and I'm not going to ruin a friendship with a failed relationship. At this point, my few friendships with carefully selected women are the only lifeline keeping my feelings towards the "modern" Western society model in check. If I lose one in such a spectacular and painful way, it might just be too much for me to bear anymore, and then I guess it really would be safer to get one step too close to a bear than to appear in any vicinity of me.

Third, assuming I would know She's likely to reciprocate my feelings, I think I'm not really a good choice for a husband. Not with all of my emotions towards the "modern" Western society model. Best case, I'd wish to emigrate to a more sane region of the world, and She is unlikely to be on the same page with me on it, unless She's got the spirit of a true adventurer, and none of my current single female friends do, I think. Best I could do is a Japan-oriented girl who might be willing to relocate to Japan, but She's both one of those highly unlikely to reciprocate my feelings and one of those female friends who are the most crucial for keeping my emotions towards the "modern" Western society model in check, so it's far too much of a risk (though if She were to confess to me, I'd gladly accept Her confession and I'd make it one of my goals to make Her life as much similar to actual heaven as possible). Worst case, I might make a few rash decisions that would be so unpopular with the general public that they would make me and anyone close to me an outcast. I don't think many women could survive while basically disconnected from the society and I wouldn't like to hurt the woman I love.

Last but not least, considering all of the above, I'm not sure if I'm capable of pure, unadulterated love anymore in the first place, and the last thing I'd like would be to lie to a person I... "care about", I guess, if "love" is a forbidden word.

the word is used far too often when in reality the right word is along the lines of I really like you a lot. At some point that may develop into love, however it may not.

There is no rule that two people dating or even in a relationship have to actually full on love each other.

We have no problems at all with that since we tell each "I love you!" everyday.

For those that fail to express it, it's mostly due to lack of courage and/or uncertainty with their partner.

Yes, it's always a gamble if you are the one to sat it first. I said it first one time after seeing this guy for a year and a half. His answer was "I don't want that"! So I never said it again to him and saw other guys like he encouraged me to do. But he was one of those guys who had commit phobia.

So from them on I always let the guy say it first, and I didn't say it back right away. I took a few days.
