In reading so many of the posts about the normalized status of cheating/side pieces, poaching married/committed people, cuckolding, friends with benefits, hookups, "situationships" (wtf?), blah... blah... blah... I've got to wonder where the heck everyone's sense of decency has gone. I mean, I'm not some "buttoned up little woman" by any means, but I'd never have thought to do any of this bs to anyone at any point in my life... So I have to ask...

HAS EVERYONE JUST LOST THEIR MINDS?

Where has the respect for the sanctity of marriage... or relationships... or people gone?

There's so much writing about MINDFULNESS today, and yet talk of all this deplorable nonsense is rising at the same time... it just doesn't add up.

Stop trying to normalize things that eat away at the human heart and soul, guys and gals...

Ok, I'm stepping off my soapbox now... passing the question over to you all. What's your take?

Believe me. I feel the pain more than you know. And every one of those cases you mentioned disgusts me as well.

I would never consider cheating or having a side piece. The concept of homewrecking disgusts me. Cuckolding is the strangest concept to me. I'll never be able to understand men that like that and to be honest I don't think I even consider them men. I'll be honest though. I have thought of having friends with benefits a few times just because girls don't seem to want to date a guy that doesn't have his life together at my age 😂 But I've never engaged in it. I do feel I'll end up regretting it somehow.

I honestly feel like a lot of this generation is caused by the effects of social media and the lack of privacy we have nowadays. Kids are entitled and spoiled and they feel they can away with everything as soon as they pull out their phone and start recording. They feel untouchable. I wish we brought back the days where you got beaten for doing stupid things.

And social media has people so desensitized to others. Any time they want to fuck, they just try to slide into someone's dms. Everyone is accessible. And girls that use it get a ridiculous amount of attention and guys that always want to get in their pants. That's why they're desensitized and think of relationships as nothing. A lot of them (not all) believe that guys are just man whores that will do or say whatever to get with them. Everything is hyper sexualized nowadays.

Those talking are the ones engaging in this conduct, and they are hoping to gain some acceptance and normalize their morally reptilian conduct. Those leading upright lives don’t boast and post endless ditties extolling their virtues; they simply go on living their moral lives. So the frequency of this conduct is easily overestimated.

No doubt, many of these things are more common now than when we were kids. I doubt that anyone in my circle of friends from high school has threesomes or open relationships. But i don’t think that is the norm today, either.

Men only need to invest a few minutes to have sex. However, during the Stone Age, women evolved to be very selective when having sex because pregnancy involved 10 months of pregnancy and a dozen or more year of raising their babies until they could survive on their own.

Since the desire to having sex is in their genes, and because sex only takes 15 minutes the foregoing is not the fault of men. However, since women had to invest years vs. only 15 minutes for men, the foregoing is 99% the fault of women and 1% the fault of men if sex is the result of rape.

Its still alive in people like me whose big desire is to explore the ultimate forms of love and seek the deepest monogamous relationship possible as a result. My dream is to have a girl I can truly love again, and then to have the most intimate type of love humanly possible. I think that the situation is not as bad as we think. The people engaging in this sort of behavior can use social media to discuss their exploits and naturally it gets a lot of attention. Nobody wants to read about a guy taking a girl out to dinner and a movie..

Friends with benefits are fine and occur naturally with people who have sexual compatibility but not long-term romantic compatibility.

I don't mind whatever people do consensually pretty much but don't fucking cheat on people behind their back that's stupid. I don't like that unconsensual shit.
