Is it weird to be against spanking a children but not in a relationship?

I once broke up with a boyfriend that was in favor of using a belt or paddle on a child as discipline methods. If I had continued the relationship, it would've been a disaster with a major incompatibility like that. I can't imagine anyone hitting my child with an object. I would be a very furious momma bear.

Ironically I'm ok with spanking in a relationship. It can be harder, you can select the object of choice, the amount of strikes, the setting, etc.

Is this weird? I'm totally against striking kids as ''discipline'' but ok in a relationship, consisting of two consenting adults.

Yeah I agree spankings for kids can be scary, and there's definitely a limit.
