Do you vote same party as your spouse / partner?

To each their own in my opinion. Sometimes a couple will be on the same page, sometimes not. I remember years ago when I was married my MIL would get insanely anxious that she was living in “a split house” (because she always voted for one party and my FIL would always vote the opposite… or at least said he did just to get her goat). She’d complain that their votes would “cancel each other out,” which would make him chuckle… etc.


I don’t think it’s a super big deal most of the time. Since the 2016 elections, though, it’s been a total PITA to hear couples argue and go on… everyone needs to calm tf down.

Yes but not because we collude. I just only date people who share my values - which means they won't vote alt-right or conservative.

It's technically not really permissible to discuss your voting with others, especially during voting periods. But honestly everyone I've seriously considered a partner votes same way as me for the same reasons.

Again, I don't date on politics. I date based on common values.

It’s not an absolute must but It’s one less thing to argue about. My girlfriend doesn’t care about politics and isn’t even registered to vote. But if I was passionate about an election I would help her get registered and just tell her to vote for who I vote for LOL.

Actually a surprising amount of women just vote for whoever their husband says.

I don't vote. I've spoiled ballots a few times by drawing penises on them or telling the people reading them to kill themselves... but I've never voted and I never will.
