Why do many people stay in toxic relationships but don't tolerate things from their friends and parents?

I guess several of us are guilty of doing this at least once in our lives. Many people tolerate drama and toxic relationships but are quick to put their friends and own parents in their place. They are outspoken with their own family (even backtalk) but won't use that same attitude with a damn boyfriend/girlfriend, take too long in ditching them.

I've seen too many posts "oh my boyfriend made fun of my breast, why" or "why is my girlfriend snooping on my cell", etc. Yet if a friend or parent did that, all hell would break loose. So why is it different. A boyfriend/girlfriend isn't even a family member and if you don't even share assets with them nor have children, you can dump them easily.
