Is it ok to bring something up and apologize for it even though it happened months ago?

But you still feel guilty for it? or actually feel even more guilty?

I had a really good connection with one of my coworkers but I suddenly switched my behavior towards him and gave him cold shoulder because I've started to like him romantically and I couldn't avoid him therefore I tried my best to ignore him. I don't want him to treat me the way he did before though, I just want him to know I acknowledge I behaved like a B but I have this inner battle whether I should do it or leave it be. Mentally it's weighing me down but I don't know whether it's appropriate.

This has happened in February/March and I didn't really feel guilty at first because I thought I'm doing the best I can in that situation but the more time passes, the more I realize it wasn't mature at all and I haven't considered his feelings or how he would perceive things which is a really bad trait of mine.

Maybe I'm overthinking, maybe it's not that deep. The conversations went from 100 to 0 (which I completely understand) but we do smile at each other when passing each other in the hallway.

I appreciate any opinion or advice
