Not now. I did downplay a brief “relationship” because my parents (if they knew about it), would have lost their dang minds. (How horrible that “your” clean cut (almost 30 year old) grown son is taking things slow in a relationship (and not just sleeping around casually) the same ‘kid’ that you have rarely had ANY big rebelliousness issues (in spite of what you think) (even when he was a teenager) (who never sneaked out or took your car without permission) who usually looks for “the good girl” types... trying to date from church groups… That is definitely something to be pissed off about). It didn’t last long (she had a LOT of red flags she couldn’t keep under control and hidden for very long) so I downplayed that we were “dating” - later on, years later, if I talked about it, I knew they both would be enraged; I just let it slip, but recovered that “oh, we went on a date, buuuuut…” (and I got crappy behavior from mom, even down playing it).

Hell, if I got into a good relationship, I’d probably WANT people (at least friends) to know! (Lol). I’m generally fairly private… but if she didn’t want it known, I’d have an issue with that once it became exclusive.

Not a secret from everyone, but my wife never told her father that she divorced her first husband in 2010. So she couldn't tell him that we got married in 2024. He is 94 years old and lives in China, so it is easy for her to maintain that deception.

I don't approve of this but it was set in place before I arrived in the scene, all of my wife's siblings agree that this is best, and I have never met her father (of course) so I would not try to substitute my judgment for the judgment of his children.

I met this guy on Snap and were dating for like 6 months. Talking on the phone sending pictures texting. In the end one of his mates messaged me saying he'd cheated so i told him to get fucked. He only live half an hour away from me but every time i asked to meet, he'd tell me he was working or had family stuff

I mean if you count sort of the first steps in dating then maybe. Most people aren’t coming out and saying they’re with someone after only a date or two.

If I was so ashamed to be with somebody I wouldn’t be with that person as well as if someone was ashamed of me I wouldn’t be with her either.

Yes. I have Six children and a good wife, in short, I have a happy marriage. But the secret of every happy marriage is a secret girlfriend. I have a girlfriend for 5 years and my wife does not know about it.
