Early on my boyfriend told me he did something in his past and he is afraid to tell me because it could distort how I view him. He said he told someone in the past and that person never looked at him the same aging. I am all for people not having to tell all their business. But I feel like it's something that I should know... I don't want to be together for 10 - 20 years and be dropped with something crazy. It's been almost 2 years now and it bothers me a lot. I asked him if he hurt anyone and he said no. I even told him if no one was hurt I can pretty much accept whatever it is. But he refuses... whatever he did he went to therapy for and said it sends him "To a dark place" If he thinks about it.

Navigating the choppy waters of revealing past secrets in a relationship is like uncovering a time capsule—exciting, but you're not sure what you're going to find. Your feelings are totally valid; after all, who doesn't want to know all the chapters in their partner's book of life? However, it's crucial to remember that love is as much about acceptance as it is about understanding. If he's gone to therapy and assures you that he hasn't harmed anyone, it might be a chapter of his life that he's desperately trying to rewrite. Pushing him to open up before he's ready could actually pull you two apart instead of bringing you closer. Encourage open communication and reassure him of your unwavering support. Remember, love is a marathon, not a sprint. When he's ready to share, be there with an open heart and a listening ear. In the meantime, focus on strengthening the bond you have. After all, it's the pages you're writing together that will define your story.
