Honestly I would just do the only thing I could do and ask. I would bring it up I would say I noticed you googled how to break up with a significant other and I was wondering what is on your mind? What circumstances have occurred which has led you to research such a topic? Is there something troubling you? How are you feeling and is there something I can do to help you navigate your uncertainties?

I would feel very unsure of the relationship that is certain and inside my heart would probably be racing and breaking but I would have to brace myself it is better to know the truth than try to shield yourself from it and live in a lie.

And who knows there could be another logical explanation to why the individual is googling this which does not have to do with the obvious that they are attempting to break up with you but perhaps they are researching the subject to help another individual get out of the relationship that they are in.

Some time ago I unintentionally gave my wife a "divorce scare". I was researching divorce laws because a friend of mine and my sister are going through separation/divorce, and did so on our kitchen laptop.

So when my wife jumped on for recipes, she found out my researching. She didn't panic, but that evening she was a bit weird and eventually asked me about it, also asking if I was fine and if she had to get worried, and any problem I had, I could talk with her and look for a solution together.

She brought up my research and I immediately reassured her everything was fine and the reasons I was researching divorce.

So I think I would react like she did.

That's a "we need to talk" moment. Try to have a calm conversation with your partner, i know emotions will flare up and want to take over, but try to remain calm. Talk about the relationship going forward and if you both feel it is time to break up, then do so, otherwise it will be over some drama fueled situation down the road

Nope. People mostly search stuff that are related to their own situations.
I never google anything if I have to advice friends on relationship stuff. I have no business considering other possibilities. That is what I would do especially if I combined that with other things he might have shown during the relationship. I don't care if it is considered right or wrong, I am just saying what I would do.
