We were flirting for almost a month, but the last time I saw him, he told me he'd just gotten out of a really bad relationship and wasn't ready for anything serious right now. However, he still wanted to spend time with me and keep in touch. After he turned me down, he started asking me questions like, 'How are you doing?' and 'Are you okay?' He even suggested we do things together. And by the way when I mentioned I was going to a cafe with a friend, he responded coldly. I don't understand what he's thinking.

Perhaps that you did not give him the "deeper relationship" he was seeking. We all knot what that depth is all about.

Failing to get what he wanted, he found this excuse to drop you and concentrate on someone that is willing to give him that "deeper relationship".

In any case, you are much better off because it looks as if that guy is only after one thing.
