My boyfriend woke up pissed from a nap because he said I died in his zombie apocalypse dream for being dumb and lacking any survival skills… It got me thinking whether or not we will survive if a zombie apocalypse were to happen. As an introvert and a home body, I feel like I have a decent chance. Plus my boyfriend had military training so I’m sure he’ll keep us alive. I just hope that we won’t get in too many petty fights because he gets stressed easily under pressure lol.

This is what my wife and I did... kind of.

My wife got me this computer game, Project Zomboid, and we have been playing together. It's quite interesting, you have to find food, water and shelter and when the electricity and waterworks get shut off you have to grow your own food and farm. And of course, avoid the zombies, it's all very realistic.

I think we make a good team, but even though she is our gaming-and-zombie expert, in this game even a small mistakes can be fatal - she got bitten while we were looking for supplies. We said our tearful goodbyes before she died and turned into a zombie the next day, and I had to put her down.

Then she made a new character and rejoined me, reclaiming her stuff. Jokes aside, it was really fun. The game requires real teamwork and having each other's back.

Okay, let’s say this is an event that increases overtime. Like the Zombie Plague was discovered overnight in Russia & spreading fast to the rest of the world…. That gives me & my girlfriend time to establish survival skills, a well thought out plan, and we practice for the invasion / make a bunker in the woods or something….

Now if it is end of the world hypothetical scenario, everyone we know is zombified and we are screwed…. Driving to the mountains and praying to God we survive. Maybe loot an abandoned gun store (since in America there are hundreds to a troublesome degree). That is all I got. Though if friends I knew were safe I’d team up with them and get my girlfriend safe, us by ourselves would probably die…. We wouldn’t die on Week 1.

Yeah you gotta at least survive the initial outbreak, people have watched too many zombie movies to not be able to survive day 1. I think the military would also immediately take care of the whole thing.

Exactly. Like going back to what I said regarding you. If you had skills or knowledge I needed, I'd have 0 moral issue taking you and offing anyone trying to stop it. Sometimes it's not the desperate, it's the ones who view others as a resource to be kept and used or discarded as a need arises.

I don't have a partner, so I'm already ahead of the game. I don't have to worry about another person.

I feel like I'd survive, at least for a while. I'm already very independant, and don't have a large social circle, so there's little risk of being eaten/infected by someone I trust.

I have pretty good survival skills, and plenty of weapons, both close and long range. My only real weakness is that I wear glasses, so once those break, I'd probably be fucked. Hard to tell a squirrel from a face eating zombie when you're blind. 🤷‍♂️

Walking Dead zombies, with warning? We'd be more worried about fellow humans.

World War Z zombies? Depends upon where we are when we find out. At my house? Probably, if we can get to one of my neighbor's boats and launch with part of my arsenal. Or even if stuck at my house for awhile till the food runs out. But eventually there would be no escape.

I stay away from people or crowded places so I’ll most likely be fine when the first outbreak happens. Being a homebody, I also have everything at home fully stocked so I’d be fine staying home alone for a while.
