Could you be with someone who thinks they're a great singer, but is really not?

If they actually thought they were a great singer/. Probably not. I'm a musician and vocalist myself. I've had my own bands. But even though people like my voice, I'm my own worst critic. I know my limitations and am not "great". So it would be hard to be with someone who was delusional.

On one hand, I would want to be supportive. I wouldn't want to destroy their passion and jjoy. But, on the other hand, it would be hard to have to listen to them and pretend that they weren't crappy. It would be annoying and I would be embarrassed for them.

I've known people like that, as a matter of fact. It's intolerable.

I'm with someone like that now, she's very, very off key but I haven't had the heart to tell her.

It's one thing for a person to love singing around the house when working. I absolutely support that. But if they did it with the thought that they are entertaining others with their melodic strains, they would have to be stopped. LOL

She sung karaoke once and everyone hated it, then someone asked me if she was my girlfriend.

Karaoke is different. Most people suck. But I encourage them to let their hair down and go for it.

If they ask me what I thought of their performance, I won't lie about their vocals but, instead, will honestly say something like "It was really fun."

If they press me for a genuine critique, I'll give them constructive but honest criticism. I have helped people to improve before, including my wife.

She sings outside of karaoke too and people get annoyed, they either tune her out or make up an excuse to interrupt her.

My mother couldn't hold a turn, as my father used to say, "for all the tea in China". Yet, they stayed together, happily married for 40 years until he died.

For me, there are many more important attributes and skills than singing. Bad singing would not kill a relationship.

Yes I could. I have been with someone who thinks they are a great singer. They are good but not great.

Nope. Went to school with many girls like that and it drove me nuts. Couldn’t date someone like that.

If they're just singing in the shower or around the house yeah. If they're trying to make a living from it or are horrible in public then I would have to speak my opinion but I probably wouldn't be a deal breaker
