Cheating? Then yes because they will just keep cheating.

If it's when they were single? No because single is single, relationships are relationships. People follow different rules and behave differently in and out of relationships.

I knew women who were promiscuous when they were single but now are happily married and absolutely love their husbands and have kids and are a happy family.

The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. People who change who they are at such a fundamental level are rare. Yes, a few exist, but not many, and the odds are overwhelmingly against it.

Promiscuity also is a reflection of broader values. Such folks tend to shun most societal rules and tend to believe that they are exempt from the consequences of their actions - which won't just be limited to the area of sex.

Perhaps two promiscuous people could be in a relationship without expecting monogamy from each other, but the majority of people could not sustain a relationship like that even if they think they can. Exceptions exist, as always.

What certainly doesn't work is a relationship between two people whose morals and values are significantly different from one another. Sooner or later those differences will not be able to be ignored, and a confrontation is inevitable, and the relationship rarely survives.
