I told my boyfriend I got 90 on a recent test in college, and he told me I need to practice more. I asked him what he was talking about, and he said that right now I'm very good, but I have to work towards being great. I was taken aback because before this I've always scored between 95-98 and this was the only time I scored a 90 and I was happy with it as usual. He told me that he's just performing his " duty of a boyfriend" which is being honest. I told him that honesty and nitpicking aren't the same and that I cannot automatically become lesser than just because I didn't score my usual marks. He said that yes I can because I have to be constant. I kept my point and he said that I should find someone else because I've started to hate him. Is he being nitpicky or am I just took sensitive?

He's full of shit if he's saying that his "duty" is to lambaste you about a test score. That's not his duty or job at all. You've never said you "hate" him or have acted as if you do.
