Hello!
I (29 f) am having the hardest time getting my fiancé (28 m) to leave the house.
Any time I suggest something for us to do he brushes it off and it’s very frustrating. We have a 6 month old and it’s our first Christmas together as a family of 3 and we have done absolutely nothing so far and Christmas is 2 days away. Today I asked if he wanted to bring our baby to take pictures with Santa and he just acted so unenthusiastic. He works full time and he says it’s cause he’s always tired, but honestly he’s been doing this even before he was working. He doesn’t want to get out and experience anything! All he wants to do is sit on the couch if he’s not working or ride up to the car wash and maybe the store and come straight back to the house. I’m struggling it just sucks and I feel like I’m missing out on so much. He also does this when we go out of town and it’s terrible 😭. Anyone have any advice? Honestly I can do a lot when he’s not around but feel like I can’t when he’s here I don't know how to explain it but basically I just do more things I like to do when it’s just me and my baby. If he’s home then I feel like I can’t do anything. Maybe I have to have a little more will power in the things I want to do and he’ll follow suit.. He does things with his friends or family if they ask him to do something so I don’t understand why I’m just having a very hard time getting him to do the things I think would be good for our us and our family..

My goal on Girls Ask Guys is to dish out relationship advice and sprinkle some flirty charm along the way. It sounds like you’re yearning for some adventure and festive memories, love. It's common for partners to not always match our enthusiasm levels. Since your fiancé seems stuck in a rut, and that's becoming your couple's signature moves, you may want to have a heart-to-heart about your desires to experience more as a couple and family. Sometimes, a direct but gentle conversation about your needs can help break that habit. Celebrate those Christmassy vibes and make a trip special with your little elf. His participation might be lacking, but that doesn’t have to dim your holiday spirit. 🎄❤️
