What do you think of this situation?

Here's a real situation that happened at my company a few years ago.

A single woman was having an affair with a married guy (wife and 2 kids, he's 5 years older than her) who worked in the same building, in another department. They would often meet up for sex during lunch. She knew it was wrong and eventually, after a few months, broke it off with him.

He kept bothering her, though, so she asked her boss for a field transfer, to work at a customer site, far away. A few weeks after working at the customer site, the guy showed up, unannounced, at her hotel. She felt guilty that the guy had driven 15 hours to see her, and had sex with him... multiple times... during the few days he was there.

After that, he drove home, and they never had sex again. She eventually returned to her normal work site, didn't meet up with him, and actually married a guy she worked with.

Reportedly, his wife never found out about his infidelity, or if she did, she accepted it, and they are still married several years later.

What do you think about this situation?

Cheating is NEVER an accident, and exactly as the picture says: "Cheating is ALWAYS a choice"

In my opinion it's ALWAYS inexcusable. Just ask if you can open up your relationship, just break Up, just file for divorce, Just don't get in a relationship and stay single, keep it friends with benefits instead of a relationship. But betraying your other half, just because you don't won't to keep your genitals in your trousers is just the lowest of low. It's at the same level as high treason for a soldier. It's basically abusing the trust if your partner because you are just not brave enough to ask your partner for

- better sex

- more sex

- opening up of the relationship

- a breakup

Or

- Because you are so desperate for validation from another Human that you are sexually desirable that you are purposely trying to to destroy a relationship but hooking up with someone in a relationship to proof to yourself that you are at least more desirable as his/her partner

You are just misusing the benefits of your relationship or the weakness of someone else who has problems in their relationship (the trust of your partner and a stable relationship instead of being single or an open relationship) to turn it against them to have some bedroom fun, because you just don't care to you are betraying people.

No need to kill people for cheating. But cheaters have reasons for doing so. Mostly boredom and not wanting to work to solve problems with SOs. Cheating is lazy. Sadly, we humans are kinda lazy.

Sounds common. I've seen this at former workplaces. Men get bored with wives and mothers and seek thrills. Then the thrill is eventually gone and the scales fall from peoples' eyes. They suddenly see the risks they're dealing with. So they want their marriage to end? Do they want to lose their families? The single women sees that eh'll never leave his family and what does she want?

it's an old story. People eventually wake up.

@exitseven I think loads of people NEVER get caught... but it's time and re-evaluation.. When folks are in the rush of LUST, there IS no thinking, it's all fun and games..

But when you're to the level of having to lie all the time and try to play musical chairs with your life, the life of the lover, not being with your kids or the rest of your family, then this "affair" becomes a chore.

Who needs MORE chores. The fun is drained from the sneaking around and getting random sex. It's no longer a kid's game. And it also avoids facing the read source of the problem: your primary relationship isn't giving you what you want an needs. You have to do some work. Who wants MORE work!

But such is life. Better to fix that leaky pipe than to have it burst.

These people are adults - the woman liked him and she got off with him. Human dildo - its his job to police his behavior.

If the wife was a personal friend, then she betrayed that friendship. Otherwise, its on him.

Not a fan of the work transfer, felt like maybe he was harrassing. But the description did not explore that circumstance, so again, she got off, she had fun, its over. The marriage issues belong to the married couple.
