In a relationship, which gender gives in the most, even if it's not a benefit to them?

There are things that will benefit us more than men and other things that's more suitable for the man. Putting aside your own feelings and going for what's more beneficial for other gender (prefering their happiness over your own, even over your own safe zone) is actually a sacrifice, since you're placing someone else's needs and happiness even at the cost of losing yourself. You know you won't win much but you don't care at that moment and give in anyway.

Nowadays which gender does that the most, men or women? I think it's women now. Several long-term relationships are ending in break-ups and the woman ends up sad her time and years were wasted for nothing. She gave most of her prime years (her market value) and lost. Then she'll just be another forgotten past ex girlfriend. Sometimes that very same man finds someone else and forms a family with her within 2 years or less, much less than the time that woman gave away for nothing. She didn't benefit from that.

Just depends on the relationship but it should be equal, if you want that relationship to survive the long haul , I only date girls’ that want to work together as a team , if I feel I am constantly giving without receiving , she isn’t the girl for me and I will more than likely leave her and move on to someone else. I can’t stand users that think everything should be catered to them. But a girl that works with me and compromises with me is a girl I will love and cherish , and have her back because I know she has mine. I also don’t mind stepping up more if she is having a bad day or not feeling well cuz I know she would do the same for me. That to me is the best kind of relationship. Compared to someone that is just using You or taking you for granted , that barely lifts a finger and expects everything handed to them.

You comments about break-ups and women "wasting their time" are a completely different issue. What you're referring to is women who stay in a relationship that doesn't lead to marriage. The issue there is that women have made marriage (and the inseparable issue of divorce) too risky and costly for men, and sex too cheap. The inevitable result is what we're seeing today. But that has nothing to do with which partner gives more in a relationship, and everything to do with the fact that half of marriages end in divorce, women file 80% of them, and men get screwed in divorce court and child custody. It was inevitable that men would eventually decide to avoid marriage. Is it possible to fix that? I don't know, but it's fair to say that the ball is in women's court.
