(Be honest) Is there any hope for hopeless romantics?

I daydream and think about romance a lot and having that one person that is my partner in crime forever. I have no interest in being with multiple women. But I find most people just want something temporary or non-serious. Is this hopeless and I'm being unrealistic?

Hopeless romantics generally look for love in the wrong places , from your description I’d say you’re more of a ‘hopeful romantic ‘ and you must remain hopeful because well … what’s the alternative? Give up? , be in a relationship for security and companionship where the heart is not sold on it?

The question is not "is it hopeless?", the question is "is it realistic?" It depends. How much work do you want to put in, to find that seemingly infinitesimal opportunity? The world is not the way it was 20 years ago, but it might be better than it will be 20 years from now. Things are likely to improve some in the long-term, but not in the short-term and "right now" is all we have. Society and culture moves at a glacial pace... until it doesn't. Presently, the dating landscape is a caught between a quagmire and a boulder. Relationships are disappearing because people are rudderless.

What you need to do is, find a community that agrees with your sensibilities and date from that pool. It's going to be hard and everything is against you, but if you want a mate, there is no other choice. You are fighting an uphill battle. You're up sh*t creek, without a paddle.

What do you want and how do you get there? There is no payoff without sacrifice.

There definitely is, but some locations are better than others for finding it. The majority of the west's mentality has been irreversibly corrupted. It's like trying to find a lake in the desert. It's out there, but it's rare.

Said like that, it doesn't strike me as romanticism, but unbalanced idealism instead. Because you describe an urge for love, instead of an urge for a specific human being, then it sets you out of reality, away from people and inside your own fantasy.
