Actually, I agree with him about spending time together but maybe not alone yet. You need to feel safe and not cornered. Going out on dates where you talk and relax will give you an opportunity to find out what potential you have. But that doesn't mean you should be physically intimate or make a long-term commitment. Explain to him that if he really cares for you, he will give you the time you need to feel comfortable. 5 months is definitely standard to have spent time with your boyfriend let alone meeting them in person. However these aren’t the average circumstances, and I think you’re having these doubts because maybe he isn’t the right guy to be meeting in person. Don’t ignore when your gut is trying to warn you, because I do think we subconsciously catch and collect hints about a guy that don’t work in his favor and it becomes part of our intuition about them.
