I was 20 years old. When I spend time with her I forget about the whole world, seeing her smile would relieve my pain. I knew it was impossible to get together, all I wanted was just spending more time with her, I wouldn't ask for more. just hearing her voice was the only melody my heart wanted to hear for the rest of my life.

its the feeling where no matter how much it destroys you, you want them to have everything they want. you care about them beyond all rationalities. all of my friends told me that I was just hurting myself more and more by falling harder while we can't be together, I still couldn't think of anything other than wanting hear her laugh once more.

its the feeling where I didn't want her to give me anything, I just wanted to love her on my own, wanted to do anything to see her smile once again.

even when all of those feelings went away, her memory is still present. it shaped my personality and my whole perception of love. I Learned that love is not only a feeling, its a practice. you don't love someone out of no where, you decide to love them and re take the same decision every time when you're faced with any situation no matter what it is.

after all this time, I believe that at some point that I will find someone that I can love even more than what i felt towards her, and this time I believe it will be mutual.

When you first fall in love, you don't realize it really. You realize it after your first broken heart.

I subconsciously realized it (before broken heart) in December 1981; it had been building over the previous month. I was 18 and just finished my first semester of college - a rough semester with my grandmother, great aunt, and a family friend die in short order during that semester.

Unfortunately, then my girlfriend (who was my first girlfriend) dumped me on 01 JAN 1982 although she had really dumped me earlier but I was not fully aware of it. This was a few days before I turned 19. That was my first broken heart.

Needless to say, my next semester tanked and I got shitty grades - all Cs and 1 B. I was depressed.

I didn't recover until August 1984.

16 I fall in love with an older guy at church. 23 he was a film maker. He was preparing to go to USA to study. I never said anything that I love anything because he was going out with my sister. It’s hard to tell because it may have been when I was 12 because that love has lasted till recently. But he never felt the same as me. When I first saw him it was instant. It had me wondering “who is that?” “Where did he come from?” “What’s his name?” And then I spent the rest of my school years, into my 20s and 30s, loving him. Till I met someone else who I now love. And it’s reciprocated. Something I never experienced with the lad at school.

17 years old. I used to look at him from the train station and became mesmerised. I got with him later, but it was very turbulent.

It took me years to get over him, even now I occasionally think of him. It’s like you can’t move on, he was completely obsessed with him. We had a powerful chemistry and connected on a physical, emotional and intellectual level. I would feel sad when he wasn’t around and found no one compared to him for years after. I don’t think I’ve felt like that since for another person.

When I was 16, I still questioned whether I really loved him or if it was just an obsession. I remember seeing him walking to class every day on my way to class. I never spoke a single word to him in person, but I always admired him from afar-his movements, the way he smiled when he’d catch me looking. I wanted to know him, everything about him-his good and his bad and I knew I would accept it all and love him even more. I wanted to be his person, to love him and stand by his side through thick and thin.

But sadly, it was one-sided. He hurt me a lot, and even to this day, I can’t t hate him. I still have so much care and love for him.

It happened so many times in second grade age 7, I can remember trying to talk my Mom into driving past my school one weekend to try to see if I would happen to spot the girl in my school/class.
