How old were you when you fell in love for the first time?

I’m 27, and have fallen in love for the first time. I think that’s pretty late to be honest, but never really been in a real relationship until now...

How old were you when you fell in love for the first time? Have you been in love again since? Is it any different second (or third or fourth etc) time around?

I think I can clarify a few things here. Love, Crush and Relationship are not synonymous. 'Crush' is just a sexual attraction that is hard wired in our genetic framework. If you observe closely, it is involuntary. 'Love' is the real deal. It has nothing to do with 'Crush'. In simple words, Love is the feeling of happiness when the person who you love is happy and the feeling of grief when your beloved is sad. 'Love' doesn't have to be 2 way. If I love a girl and she loves some other guy and I know that she will be happy with him, I would be happy. The moment the feeling of possession or doubt kicks in, Love gets contaminated. In short, Love = Trust + Respect. If you cannot sleep peacefully after you have disclosed your passwords or other confidential information to the person you love, it is not Love. Such is the intensity of this 4 lettered word. Relationship = Love + Time. Relationships built on Love strengthen over time, whereas Relationships built on Needs or Desires weaken over time.

Pardon me for the Grandfather lecture. Finally I would say, we don't fall in Love, we rise in Love. We have always loved one or more people since we were kids, only faces change with time. You can rise in love even 10 times but that doesn't mean you stop loving the 9 people when you start loving the 10th. Because if you stop loving them, it was never love to begin with. No age is early or late for rising in Love. Age has no place in Love because unlike Age, Love is Eternal.

I'm honestly not sure I ever have.
Me, my brothers... even my old man, we all have a bad habit. We tend to fall for girls who seem very broken, with the apparent goal of fixing them, helping them heal, and be happy.
Like we have some fucked up messiah complex.
The problem is, when you fall for a person like that, what you're ACTUALLY doing is falling for who you think they'll be once you've helped make them whole.
That relies on
1) being able to make them whole
2) them being that person, deep down

Experience (not always my own, but what I witness) suggests some people do not WANT to be fixed, some people we just can't fix, and some people are NOT who we hoped they would be, once they are fixed.

My father ended up miserable and bitter. Both my brothers are on their second major relationships, with more stable, less broken people, but are themselves carrying baggage from their first relationships.

Me? I've taken a protracted break. No intent to look for someone, or even consider I might be in love, for the time being.

24. And again at 31. I'm still with the second guy :-) They're both the same personality type. In fact, I'm still friends with my first, and even went to him for advice when my man started doing some of the same things my ex did that lead to our break up: they're both terrified of losing their girl, and usually end up pushing her away because they're already convinced she's going to leave.

first time I fell for someone I was 13. it happened with a few others when I was 14. but 16 I was truly in love then with a guy who actually loved me back. thatttt was until a month ago when we had to go our separate ways. should've known. love is nice but at the same time, love sucks lol

I'm not sure if you can call it "love" but I had a crush on a guy from my class as I was 7 or 8 years old. He kind of liked me too, but we were just too young for anything.

The moment I realized I was in love, I was 24 years old. I thought I was when I was a teenager, but this was different. I knew it was because it was the first time I was so vulnerable that others could see my emotions no matter how hard i tried to hide it.

I don't want to be one of those love sick teenagers that,
*Falls in love with every girl he meets*
It's been one girl. Who pulled me out of my introverted ways.
For a year now we've been dating. And yes, I love her.
If by love, I mean I enjoy her company above anyone else's. I'd be happy to someday marry her. And we like the same music and food. ;P our personalities just mesh.
