Beauty is only in the eyes of the beholder , so just because you think someone is ugly , they might not be ugly to the other person. So the cheater cheated because that other person was better than the person they were with. Cheating doesn’t just occur because of someone’s looks , cheating can occur because the other person has a better heart than their partner does as well , someone that treats them better , someone that doesn’t belittle them or criticize them , someone that doesn’t with hold intimacy and affection from them. Most cheating occurs because of lack of intimacy and affection in a relationship. If a partner doesn’t feel valued or wanted or appreciated by their partner , they might lean into someone else that makes them feel that way. That is giving them what their partner isn’t giving them. Me personally will not stay in a relationship with a girl that only thinks about what is best for herself , that doesn’t prioritize me the same way she wants me to prioritize her , if a girl starts treating me like a convenience, she will become my convenience as well. Relationships need to go both ways for them to work and for love to continue to grow , if you aren’t choosing your partner over everyone else in this world , don’t expect them to choose you over everyone else in this world. Make each other your top priority , don’t make everything about yourself. Most men will not cheat on a girl that cherishes him and talks highly of him , that doesn’t with hold intimacy and affection from him , that makes him feel like he is the only man for her. Most guys’ will only cheat if those things aren’t being met in the relationship. If all those things are being met in the relationship and he still cheats on her , then he is just a selfish POS person that only cares about himself , he is a complete moron

It’s either convenience. Shared fetishes/fantasies. The chemical hype of the moment. Or they just relate sexually. Sexual compatibility drive unlike what they had with their partner.

Not only so but it’s possible it’s some experimentation.

Someone wanting to have a gay/lesbian affair or they doing something they think they couldn’t do with their partner and might’ve been judge by for that thing/those things. I'm not condoning cheating by any means, but a lot of the time, the reason people cheat is because they're not satisfied in some aspect of their relationship. It doesn't matter how physically attractive someone is. If they give you a headache all the time, don't try to fulfill your sexual desires, and don't support you, you'll inevitably feel distant from them. And you might look or be open to external sources of fulfillment, to fill the void you're missing in the relationship.

Obviously there is no excuse for cheating, but that's likely going to be the case for someone cheating on you with someone less physically attractive.

When it comes to relationships whether it’s a cheating relationship or not it’s not about looks. You get to like the girl and later you start desiring the girl then you might even start loving the girl. I don’t condone cheating but people I know who cheat often cheat with someone less good looking than their current boyfriend/girlfriend or spouse.
I think that’s because often these people are belittled in their relationship so they think less of themselves. Therefore their lowered self-esteem causes them to date less attractive people.

Ugly is subjective. And beautiful but miserable to be around can take some of the shine off that beauty. So that "ugly" person can end up looking a whole lot better in the cold harsh light of reality.
