How would you feel if someone of your same sex was interested in you?

If a guy told me he was interested in me I would feel the same way I would have if a woman did - I'm flattered and really appreciate it, but I am married and currently I have no open positions.

That reminds me when I was 20 or so I had this guy friend whom I hung out with - he was 25 or so - he would take me out for drinks, eating, and a couple of times invited me over to play videogames or watch movies. I was very happy to have a best buddy, and it flew over my head he was trying to make me undestand he was interested in me. Eventually he took my not understanding his hints as disinterest and gave up - I realized much later he didn't want to be just friends. I had this stereotypical image of gay men in my head as campy and such, while he was a very laid back, easygoing bro type.

Honestly had he told me directly, I could have been curious enough to try and see what would happen.

It has happened, in fact I think it is happening in an slow burn longterm way even right now, I am trying to think of a simple answer and I can’t, it depends on the person and on my situation at the time. Right now I am in a good LTR with a guy I love and I am not interested in anything else that would go against that. Also I am straight. But if I was single and the right girl approached me the right way I might be curious enough to see how it went. In reality the girls who have approached me either didn’t appeal to me or something (I am not always sure what the factors are in my own head) or the time was wrong.

I had a female boss at a part time campus job who really sexually harassed me, she would offer inappropriate favors for me to go out w her or even dress a certain way. I did not go out w her but I did wear outfits she wanted and, I actually got paid for some hours I didn’t work in return for it. I ended up hanging out w her at work “assisting” her or something, it never got physical but I knew that is what she wanted and I tried to draw a line where I wouldn’t actually do anything with her but I would play along a little. But eventually it was too much for me so I quit, it was just a part time job in the library.

There are some other situations but they are like that, nothing happened really and I don’t always know myself well enough to know why it didn’t happen. I wish I had a better or shorter answer!

This reminds me of one incident that happened in college. It was one of the psych courses required to graduate, and my seat was next to this guy who was very smart, and looked the part (glasses, nerdy looking). He was cute in a strange way. A young lady (not sure how young really, she might have been older than me) struck up a conversation with me after I had made a speech about a topic I had chosen for research. She talked to me about my speech and said how much she liked it and found it interesting. Then she pointed out the guy I sat next to, and kind of made fun of him. At the time I had no idea why she'd do that, but because she saw me talking to him, I think she was trying to find out if I liked him or something. After a while--she told me that she was going out someone who showed up at the class in the end---another woman who looked very much like a man. So then, I figured out she was gay--and from the way she was talking to me it seemed as though she was trying to find out if I was gay too.

I been hit on by guys’ a few times but I am straight and I don’t lean that way whatsoever, I am not rude about it , I just make it clear to them that I only like girls’ , I was only rude one time to a guy at my one job that didn’t take No for an answer , and he kept hitting on me and making sexual remarks that crossed the line. It's usually flattering when someone shows interest in you no matter what sex.

But the problem with the guy situation was that this guy wasn't "male" forward. He was polite. He waited for YOU to give him the signal to go ahead. And since you didn't, you didn't have a clue he was interested.

If I was just hanging out with a guy playing video games, doing "bro" things, I wouldn't consider the person "interested" either... He thought being friendly was a way to show interest. With you it wasn't... Ah. youth... The time of mistakes...

Amazing! When other women find me attractive it is almost more meaningful than when men do. Men tend to for one reason in particular, women will compliment or say something to you because they truly mean it and want to make you genuinely feel better

It has happened to me several times in my life. It is especially annoying when they know I have no interest in that but continue to make obvious attempts anyway.

Once when I was a teen in a city these two gay guys who seemed to be in their late 20s or early 30s were following me around staring at me with obvious intentions. I was so disgusted that I never forgot it.

I now have a good friend who is gay, and when we first met he was romantically interested in me. It took about a month to clarify that I was not romantically interested in him, but we have remained good friends nonetheless. We often go surfing and play billiards together...
