If they wanted to end the relationship then it will be done there and then. I don’t need closure or for things to be prolonged, sugarcoated or for it to be done “nicely”. Only thing for me is, the very second you don’t want me, tell me and that very same day will be the last you ever see or hear from me.
Literally only have one life… I won’t waste a day more than I have to on someone who doesn’t want me.

In the case of my current partner, id want him to sit down with me and have a conversation about it. Explain to me why he wants to end the relationship, how long it took for him to come to this conclusion, and then move on to discussing how we’ll share custody of our child, and how long he needs to stay in our home before he can afford to move out.

By being honest and respectful about it and hopefully giving me a valid reason why, instead of just blowing smoke up my ass. It’s easier to move on from someone when you have a valid honest reason why. As much as it can hurt , it’s better to know the truth then not know the truth.

I don't think there is a good way but most people would want some closure as to why. I would especially if I thought it was going well without arguments.

Probably the discarded person wants an opportunity to rectify any probs. I would rather not hear they have met someone hotter. Possibly the best is to simply hear that they don't feel the same. It is sort of non-negotiable and not such a rejection.
