My wife was a virgin. If she wasn't a virgin I'd never have dated her long term.

When I was dating and I'd say something low key like, "how old were you when you first had sex"... making it sound like any answer was safe. What I really wanted to find out is I've already screwed and risked disease and having a kid with someone who isn't my husband and I believe in casual sex, sex outside of marriage.

If the answer was anything other than I'm a virgin, then she immediately was off the table for a long term thing. Since she's nothing more than a fling than the rest didn't really matter.

I wouldn't hide anything from my partner, but that doesn't mean I'm going to go into detail on everything either. It just depends on whether my partner and I decide that it's healthy for us to talk about our pasts.
