Going back in time?

If you could go back to any timeline and change something that happened. do you think you would have had a better outcome relationship wise or it was meant to happen?

This is a tough one to answer. I have dated two guys in my life. My ex was a year older and we had an amicable breakup because he was going off to college and I still had a year left of high school.

I suppose maybe it was the brightest of ideas knowing full well that odds of being together when he went away were low. However, I do not regret the relationship.

I understand... where part of you is torn between how you feel and whats the real then the questions start to arise where you question yourself on decisions? Right or wrong? Then the attachment feelings come in

Yep, but the past is the past. I don't know that I would change it and give up the happy memories.

I don't think anything would have changed. Even if I dated someone in the same class, the odds of us going off to the same university is not very good, which means it would have ended the same as it did for me anyhow.

Yes, it is kind of the realistic approach to it at that age when many go off to schools all around the country. You have to be prepared that relationships will end because they aren't viable.

Not many are interested in a long distance relationship. I met my current boyfriend at the school I go to, which is four hours from my hometown. The thing is that he lives just an hour away from my home in the next state over. Totally doable in the summers.

Someone that moved cross country for most of the year, that isn't going to work for me personally.

At a younger age you want everything to last but as you get older you realize the hard truth nothing really does it just takes longer to get there it seems

Yes, I agree with that. I didn't date after I broke up with my ex. I waited until I got to college. No point in starting something for a year that would end like we had to do.

I was also more selective when I agreed to a date with current boyfriend so that there was maximum chance of the relationship surviving.

Both similar career paths and duration of schooling, he lives a reasonable distance when we are not in school, similar family values, etc.

I'd go back in time and murder my molestor before he grew up. See if that fixed shit, it all started with him. Then the other adult males came around that should be put into the ground too. At least they'd not like their daughters to be around their own kind.

Relationship wise I have nothing so in past to change. I waited patiently for the right person to come. I have never compromised with anyone less than that. My standards were high so at some point i started believing that maybe such person doesn't exist. Still I chose better to remain single life long than being with such person who don't deserve my time energy and my pure love.

I thought I'd found my perfect partner, but it wasn't to be, and I've no regrets about any of my decisions. Perhaps in the future I might think differently, but not at present.
