My girlfriend and I have been together for almost 5 months. I care for her deeply. She is the best girlfriend and is constantly putting in effort to make our relationship work. I have Adhd and its hard to be with me sometimes.
She said she is tired and this relationship is draining her. She specifically stated that she has tried her best and because we aren't married and don't have kids its best to go our separate ways. She said I can't provide her needs and she has tried to be patient. She said she needs more constant communication, at this point she needs daily communication whether it's at least a 15 minute phone call or a few text messages everyday. She needs to see me once a week, whether it be a date or we spend time at her house. I usually see her once every 3 or 4 weeks. She says that I prioritize other things all the time and I need to start prioritizing her. We used to communicate once every few days or a week and a lot of the times she would initiate by calling or texting me because I am very forgetful due to my adhd. She said I am disrespectful because when she calls me sometimes I will ignore her calls and tell her I will call her back and don't. She said I dont show up for her physically and emotionally but she is always there for me emotionally. When I have an emergency she will pick up the phone but when she has an emergency she can't rely on me to be there for her. She is is tired of trying. She wants reciprocity and she knows she can do a lot better on her own. She'd rather be single because she feels single most of the time. This relationship is lonely for her and only about my need.
I really do miss her and she is such a lovely girlfriend and person. She is loving and beautiful and so talented in many ways.
I am diagnosed and medicated on Adderall, but I am not in therapy.
