Trending & News Biologically, men are wired to get as many women as possible, pregnant. That's just a scientific fact. Marriage is only a new-ish concept
Early marriage:
Marriage was primarily used to form alliances between families
It was also used to secure property rights and ensure the legitimacy of heirs
Parents arranged marriages for children to benefit both sides
Most couples didn't marry for love, but rather for economic liaisons
Women were treated as property, or means to bear children
Marriage over time:
Marriage became a popular institution across ancient Hebrews, Greeks and Romans
In the 5th century, church courts took over and elevated marriage to a holy union
In the 16th century, the church decreed that weddings be performed in public, by a priest, and before witnesses
Monogamy became the guiding principle for Western marriages sometime between the sixth and the ninth centuries
In the 19th century, the Industrial Revolution and the rise of the middle class led to marrying for love
While marriage has been around for a long time, the idea of it being mongamous, has only recently become a thing in the west
Yes the only relationship I would be in with someone. If you can’t stay loyal to your partner , then you shouldn’t get into a relationship with them period. Only selfish people want other partners’ Selfish people should not enter a relationship with anyone whatsoever. You can’t expect someone to do for you, if you can’t do for them , Love only grows when 2 people choose each other over everyone else in this world , Love will not grow if you or your partner is choosing other people period.
I believe it exists. Do I think it is right for everyone. I suppose not. Like anything else. Everyone has different preferences. I think monogamy is more popular than other forms I don't know if this is more so due to cultural Influence or organic or a combination.
Yes, though there are so many examples of people who are either not ready OR never have the intention of being monogamous.
Helping folks find love is my mission here! Oh, monogamous love? Absolutely, it's as real as my fascination with relationship dynamics. Long-lasting love can totally exist, but it requires serious dedication and clear communication. Think of it like a romantic dance—just avoid stepping on toes, lovebombing, or ghosting. It's all about keeping those connections strong and exciting! 💃❤️
You couldn't find your ass with a mirror and a road map!
@OlderAndWiser 😭 stop i love your commennttt

Monogamy refers to sex, not love. One can love many people, yet be very happy with just one person for sex.
Yes but a lot of people just can’t form normal relationships and lack self control
Monogamy is all I have done my entire life.
The thing is the assumption that YOU get bored is a YOU problem because YOU're not putting in anything to invest in the relationship. It's not the other persons responsibility to make you happy. That you INVOLVE them in things that make you happy AND involve in things that make THEM happy is when boredom isn't something that arises. Caring is a behaviour and should become a habit for those who value commitment (that's what the problem is these days, people aren't willing to MAKE a commitment to another)
I think monogamy strengthens security and, then, both partners are able to grow and blossom, both n their love life and in their life, in general. Nothing can beat the support partners receive from one another in a good, strong relationship.
People who ask that question, usually aren't capable of love, and have never been loved, and have never seen a couple stay together, which is a rare and unfortunate way to live.
You don't need to believe in something when you already know for a fact that exists because you are capable of it and you see it everywhere.
yep, one man at a time is definitely enough to deal with :D
Yes. I wouldn't be in a relationship that wasn't monogamous. I never cheated and neither did any of my girlfriends.
I've been happily married now for over 28 years and both my wife and I are completely loyal and trustworthy.
I’m not entirely sure what you mean by “monogamous love” , relationships , yes.
I think it’s possible to love more than one person at a time and at any point in your life and it to love many in different ways
Yes. I do not define infatuation or lust or addiction to how a person makes me feel as "love." Love is a choice in my worldview, and can easily be monogamous.
@LiamJHayden I agree. And a couple confirms that choice every day.
Yes @Enigma2001 that's why couples that started lust from first eyesight - once they eventually eventually after dates hit the bed 🛏️ crikey yikes 😂☺️😛
I believe that it's the only type of love IMHO.. Nothing like two people being there for each other, struggling together, learning to work as a team, and being there through thick and thin..
I don’t know, I think we find people for a particular period of time, will it be the same person your whole life, I’m not sure about that, sometimes you fall in and out of love with people.
Love or infatuation or crush.. whatever you want to call it is not in your control and no human (especially man) is monotonous by nature. What matters is how you act on it and stay within your limits.
Love is a squishy term. Monogamous life? Sure that's different. I think monogamy is a anachronistic institution and am VERY glad to see that ethical non monogamy become mainstreamed
Depends on what you mean. Can you love someone forever? Sure. But that doesn't mean you don't find other people sexually attractive.
@Enigma2001 monogamous love can work but monogamous sex doesn’t work
Yes. I believe that polygamy is unique to animals. We are humans, and therefore we should not deviate from monogamy. This is what separates us from animals.
I'm not a stickler. My wife has a side guy and It's fine
Yes, for some, for others no. It's up to you and your partner. So far for me it's a yes, that could change, lol.
yes i do believe in monagamous love and hope to have it one day i would be faihful and would hope she would be also
Women (more often than men) will cheat… most women have grass is greener syndrome and believe something else may be better.
yeah
it's easier
I try to but always end up with persons lacking passion and dedication
Yes, I’ve always been
It’s hard but worth it
