so my unemployed boyfriend started living with me six months ago. He has traumatic head damage and since COVID-19 he has trouble finding work so he does freelance. The problem is I cover majority of the bills. So the other day someone broke into my house and stole many things including his laptop where he was from. Lonfgstory short this whole week he has been borrowing money from his friends for us to find a place and they put his name on the lease in the new place. But nothing has changed I will still cover all the bills and probably but him a new laptop. Is it selfish for me to call it quits now? Or at least tell him I'm tired of supporting us both and he might have to move out?

If he is draining you and bringing you down more than actually being supportive of you , then yes move on from him , a partner is supposed to be a team partner , working together as a team , to live comfortably and content together. He shouldn’t be relying on you to support him , he should be doing what he has to do to make money instead of borrowing money from his friends , which he probably has to pay them back as well. I understand the job market right now sucks , but there are plenty of places that would hire him on the spot , the money might not be what he is looking for , but at least it will carry him and give him a steady paycheck until he lands a job in his profession , Him doing freelance work isn’t steady income , tell him to get a job at McDonald’s and do his freelance work around his schedule. If he doesn’t make any effort , move on
Kick him out
