Do long distance relationships work?

My girlfriend lives in sunderland and I live Edinburgh, she just moved from here few months ago, I dont know if it would work, we do meet many times and im trying to move there too, is it wort it?

It worked for me. For her. Oh and for her too, and her as well. For a time, in different relationships, it worked. It was great times, for me, her, I'd do it again, without a second thought.

You guys meeting is already a big plus many if not most LDRs don't have. Keep communication and commitment going strong (from both sides but you can only control yours) and try to move ASAP if it is something you can do AND work with it (in terms of work, family proximity if that's important etc.)

Weigh up the pros and cons with the aul paper and pen and think about how much you love her. I think you guys will be okay ^^

I spent over a year where I was in England and my fiancée at the time was in South Africa. We married eventually and I had 21 years as her husband.

Distance doesn't have to mean a breakup. It means you have to go the extra mile with communication.

They can work but its hard. You need to be short distance before it gets to difficult. So how much time you have depends on the couple and how physical their needs are. Mine lasted 2 years and lockdown prevented us from continuing. If it had not been for the lockdown i'd have bought plane tickets the moment she got to lonely.

@weirdguy20201 sometimes there's a reason "the sparks" with people usually only happen local / locally. Proximity. Not just literally. To my mind it's also because "you both live in the same neighbourhood/town/suburbia/city" - literally. So my answer is no and my answer is "go viva locale" local - Ricky Martin lol 😂😆

Sure they do some don't but it depends on the people in the relationship and if there willing to put in the work. So people will say they don't and tru to discourage you from getting into a LDR but you have regular relationship where people see each other every day that don't won't. So again it depends on the two people that in the relationship

I'd guess occasionally they do but mostly they only work if there is some time spent physically together beforehand, at the start or sometime later.
